Meet Erika

After my rocky beginning to breastfeeding my first baby and witnessing the miracles that my own lactation consultant provided me and many other mothers, I had discovered a deep desire to be that person for other parents. I was a surgical oncology nurse and in grad school to be a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner at the time, but with much thought I decided to switch paths and started my journey to become an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). I switched nursing specialties and became a Mother Baby nurse which is where I completed my lactation hours tirelessly helping new moms feed their babies. I'm passionate about it because I've lived it! If you are in the trenches of painful, blistered nipples; mastitis, clogged ducts, thrush, tongue/lip ties, nipple shields, etc... I can relate and help make your breastfeeding journey more enjoyable. I have completed training on TOTS: tethered oral tissue speciality and can help you identify potential root causes for any difficulty you may be experiencing. I also have completed training in baby bodywork which is beneficial to address tension patterns which affect latching and suckling skills.

I have tandem nursed my toddler daughter and infant son--to say that lactation is my life is an understatement! Being a TOTS trained provider, I have a focus on helping identify and managing breast and bottle feeding babies with oral dysfunction and tethered oral

tissues.  I can help you meet your feeding goals for your baby--whatever that looks like for you. When it's time to go back to work or wean, I can help you make a plan. I can meet with you virtually for select services. I look forward to working with you and your family!
